The Cairo is a condo building located in the Dupont Circle neighborhood featuring unique Moorish and Romanesque Revival architectural styling. At 164 feet and 12 stories, it is the District's tallest residential building and was completed in 1894 as the city’s first residential skyscraper. At the time of its completion, the height of The Cairo was very controversial and led to building height regulations that continue to define the DC skyline.
