Terrell Place
Terrell Place is a mixed use project that includes a retail complex, offices, as well as upscale condominiums. Located in the Penn Quarter, the project is named for Mary Church Terrell, a civil rights leader. Ironically, the conversion in 2003 included a renovation of a former Hecht’s department store, a place where Terrell wasn’t able to get a cup of coffee because of early segregation policies in the District. CarrAmerica, the developer, named the complex for Terrell to keep her name alive while celebrating her many achievements.
Today, the 10-story complex includes the Rosa Mexicano restaurant as well as 29 upscale residences with premium finishes in the kitchens and bath as well as spacious quarters. Read more about Terrell Place.
