Stronghold Real Estate

Stronghold is a small neighborhood of seven square blocks located in Northeast DC near Brookland.  The community draws its name from a 1950 era baseball team for local boys named the “Strong Hold.”  The boundaries of Stronghold include Michigan Avenue to the north Franklin Street and the Glenwood and Prospect Hill Cemeteries to the east and south and North Capitol Street to the west.  This location is across North Capitol Street from the McMillan Sand Filtration plant that is targeted for redevelopment.  Most of the streets in the Stronghold neighborhood dead-end at the adjacent cemeteries, limiting traffic on these tree-lined quiet streets.  Housing stock in the Stronghold neighborhood includes circa 1920 Federal-style row houses.
