Rock Spring
The name almost says it all for one Arlington neighborhood. With a population topping just 6,000 people, Rock Spring is a serene and woodsy option for homebuyers. The “spring” reference comes from a bubbling spring behind homes on the south side of Rock Spring Road. This quiet, family-centric neighborhood is full of nicely kept homes, including some mid-century designs and some much larger, new construction homes.
In fact, most people living in the neighborhood do own their homes. The average home in Rock Spring tops $1 million in this well-kept neighborhood. Read more about Rock Spring.

More About Rock Spring
The Rock Spring Civic Association covers about 1,000 homes in the northern Arlington neighborhood. Over the past half-century or so, the association has helped maintain the community by promoting the values and interests of area residents.
This includes helping to improve education in the neighborhood, fighting some unwanted development, and fighting to save some of its history over the years and decades. It doesn’t hurt, either, that Rock Spring has some highly rated public schools to call its own.
According to Niche.com, public schools in the neighborhood get an A+, as does the entire neighborhood when it comes to being good for families. Those grades helped propel Rock Spring to an overall grade of A+ when all categories were taken into consideration.
Niche.com also ranks the neighborhood high nationally in terms of the “Best Neighborhoods to Raise a Family in America”. It’s noted the neighborhood’s location makes it easy to travel to surrounding places like McLean, Ballston, Falls Church and even DC in just minutes.
Of course, Arlington itself is known for its highly-rated public schools, its green space and its desirable neighborhoods, such as Rock Spring. As a community, Arlington also receives an overall A+ from Niche.com, with top rankings for its public schools, its nightlife and for being a good place for families to live.
