Lake Barcroft Real Estate
Lake Barcroft is a neighborhood of over 1,000 homes anchored by a wooded lake in Falls Church, VA. This 810-acre community is an outdoor wonderland and features a 135-acre lake with over five miles of shoreline. Every home in the community has deeded access to Lake Barcroft.
The community draws its name from Dr. John Barcroft who had a home and operated a mill near the present day Barcroft Dam in the period leaden up to the Civil War. Lake Barcroft was created in 1915 to supply water to the City of Alexandria. By 1950, the reservoir could no longer meet Alexandria's water needs and it was sold to developers. Many of the homes in the Lake Barcroft community were built in the 1950s.
