More About Glebewood

Glebewood Housing

The Glebewood Village Historic District is made up of around 100 buildings, mostly constructed in the late 1930s.  The national historic district includes seven blocks of rowhouses. Each of those seven blocks contains up to 30 or so single rowhouses, mostly in a Colonial Revival style of architecture.

The two-story rowhouses were made of brick and have an asymmetrical roof. It’s also possible to find a renovated Cape Cod in the neighborhood, which has likely been updated with some of the latest and most modern features and finishes.

The neighborhood is bounded by Lee Highway on one side, plus it’s close enough to hop on I-395 and head into Alexandria, as well. Some of the homes of Glebewood also sit close to Slater Park, which is a good place to head for outdoor recreation, or just to walk your dog.

The location also means living close to the W&OD Trail, which is a popular spot for runners, skaters, and cyclists in this part of the DC area. You can get on and off the trail at a number of different spots, plus there are several parking areas along the trail, as well.
