Fairlington is a neighborhood of brick Colonial Revival-styled townhouses offering a suburban living experience in a close-in location just minutes from Washington, DC. The 322-acre community was developed in the 1940s during World War II by the Defense Homes Corporation to provide housing near the Pentagon. Originally developed as a rental community, Fairlington was converted to condominiums in the mid 1970s.
Fairlington consists of over 3,400 residences located in seven unique villages in the community: Fairlington Arbor, Fairlington Commons, Fairlington Glen, Fairlington Green, Fairlington Meadows, Fairlington Mews and Fairlington Villages.
Amenities at Fairlingon include pools, clubhouse, exercise room, tennis & basketball courts, playgrounds and walking trails.
Fairlington is located in the southern end of Arlington, VA near the border with Alexandria. Main thoroughfares accessing the community include King Street and Quaker Lane, and Interstate 395 bisects the community, dividing it into North Fairlington and South Fairlington.
