Dover Crystal

Abundant green space is just one of the many advantages of Arlington’s Dover Crystal neighborhood. This upscale neighborhood is also noted for its architecture, which comes in a range of styles.  It’s rare to find a home in Dover Crystal priced under $1 million, as many of the homes are priced around the $2 million range, with some of them even higher than that. That’s not to say real estate is even easy to find.

More About Dover Crystal

Dover Crystal History

In reality, it’s not very common for homes to go up for sale in Dover Crystal. While mostly farmland in the colonial days, it’s likely the neighborhood at one time was part of a country estate.  Most home construction in the area did not begin until around 1950, with more development following over the next couple up decades.

Dover Crystal Homes

These days the affluent area still offers some terrific examples of Mid-Century design, as well as traditional Colonials, Modernist homes, and contemporary-style architecture.

Some homes offer wraparound decks and plenty of luxuries. While buyers will find some homes in the area are new construction, other homes have been remodeled and renovated in more recent years to reflect some of their original charm.

 Living in Dover Crystal

This highly desirable neighborhood is filled with trees and hills, with walkable, quiet streets that make it easy to link up with nearby biking and hiking trails and parkland. Potomac Overlook Park sits just to the north of the neighborhood.

The park is filled with miles of trails, plus it offers an outdoor summer concert series. The Potomac River runs along the neighborhood’s northeastern side, while several other high-end suburbs surround Dover Crystal, as well.

For added recreation, a nearby country club offers golf, swimming, and tennis only about a half-mile away from the neighborhood. The nearest Metro station is the Ballston-MU Metro, but there is no actual station in the neighborhood, itself.
