Country Club Hills

It’s certainly an ultra-exclusive section of Arlington, known for its gracious homes and large lots, but it’s also probably fit for a president. In fact, tony Country Club Hills sits just to the north of Washington Golf and Country Club, which is commonly referred to as the “playground of the presidents”.

The homes of Country Club Hills first started going up about a century ago, and over the years the community has served as home to countless politicians, sports figures, and media personalities. The average home in recent years has sold for at least $1.5 million, but it’s not uncommon for home prices to push into the multi-million-dollar range, either.

More About Country Club Hills

Country Club Hills Homes

You’ll commonly find a nice mix of Colonials, English Tudors, Victorians, and Spanish-style homes in the neighborhood, plus also some Mid-Century styles and sometimes even some newer construction, too. Because of all the diversity in architecture, it’s possible to find a cozier home in Country Club Hills, but oftentimes a spacious home too, which could surpass 5,000, 6,000, or even 10,000 square feet of living space.

Homes in Country Club Hills oftentimes don’t sit on the market very long and sell for full asking price. The lots in Country Club Hills usually feature lush landscaping and mature trees, with the homes set alongside wide, shaded streets.

 Country Club Hills Location

Located in North Arlington, wooded Donaldson Run Park sits nearby, with trails that connect up with other area parks. This part of Arlington is also relatively close to the Potomac River.

Originally part of a Civil War-era estate, the land that now supports Country Club Hills was developed and promoted for its scenic hills and woods overlooking Washington DC. Some of the very first homes went up in the late 1920s.

As for the nearby Washington Golf and Country Club, it dates back to the late 1800s and is considered Virginia’s oldest golf club. Along with golf, it also offers swimming, tennis, and fitness.
