Cleveland Park Real Estate

Cleveland Park is a neighborhood in the Northwest Quadrant of Washington, DC named for President Grover Cleveland who owned a summer estate in the area.  The neighborhood developed following the installation of a street car line in the early 1890s.  Many of Cleveland Park's beautiful tree-lined streets are lined with a wonderful mix of bungalow and craftsman style homes.

Cleveland Park is bounded by Wisconsin and Idaho Avenues to the west, Rodman and Tilden Street to the north, Rock Creek Park to the east and Klingle and Woodley Roads to the south.

Neighborhoods adjacent to Cleveland Park include Woodley Park, Forest Hills, Cathedral Heights, North Cleveland Park and Massachusetts Avenue Heights.  Cleveland Park is served by the Cleveland Park Metro station on the Red Line, has several bus routes and Zip Car service.

Cleveland Park’s Hidden Historic District

Showcasing decades of growth and development, Cleveland Park’s hidden historic district presents a full range of homes and buildings, some of which can be dated back to the late 1800s and turn of the century. That’s when electric streetcars first began connecting up Cleveland Park to downtown, and neighborhood growth really began to take off. Spurred by its new status as a streetcar suburb, Cleveland Park grew rapidly. Historians suspect a number of homes in Cleveland Park may have be... Read More

Tilden Gardens: Venerable Northwest Co-ops

The largest building of its kind until the Watergate complex opened decades later, it has remained one of the most luxurious throughout the years. Made up of four buildings connected by landscaped, graveled walks, each building in Tilden Gardens also offers its own garage. First completed in the early 1930s, the red brick and limestone buildings provide ... Read More

The Broadmoor: Cleveland Park Best Addresses

One of Cleveland Park’s most elegant residential buildings, The Broadmoor still evokes luxury living along Connecticut Avenue, nearly 100 years from its beginning. First constructed in the mid-1920s, the building is a distinguished property in the region, and holds an honored spot on Goode’s list of Best Addresses. Klingle Valley Trail Now Open

It’s taken more than a quarter of a century, but the Klingle Valley Trail is now open, giving people a new option to replace the long ago closed stretch of Klingle Road NW. Not even a mile in length, the old stretch of roadway, running from Cleveland Park to Mount Pleasant through Rock Creek Park was prone to drainage and maintenance problems, eventually closed to traffic when a storm washed out a large section of it in the early 1990s. Political leaders, environmentalists and locals ... Read More

Cleveland Park Offers Urban Suburbia

Once a neighborhood of mostly summer estates, complete with large windows and even larger porches, the Cleveland Park of today is more of an urban suburbia, enticing residents with its tall trees and urban space, yet remaining comfortably close to Downtown Washington. Named after President Grover Cleveland in the late 1880s, the neighborhood is filled with historic sites and a mix of late 19th century homes and more modern designs.
