Brightwood is a neighborhood located in the Northwest Quadrant of Washington, DC. Georgia Avenue runs through the neighborhood and offers a commercial corridor for shopping, dining and services. The tree-lined streets of Brightwood are lined with single-family homes and row homes, many of which were originally built in the 1920s & 1930s. The community borders Rock Creek Park to the west and many Brightwood residents enjoy the open space and natural beauty of this DC treasure.
The boundaries of Brightwood are Aspen Street to the north, Georgia Avenue, Tuckerman Street and 4th Street to the east, Missouri Avenue to the south and 16th Street and Rock Creek Park to the west. Neighborhoods bordering Brightwood include Shepherd Park to the north, Takoma to the northeast, Manor Park to the west, Brightwood Park to the southeast, 16th Street Heights to the southwest and Rock Creek Park to the west.
