More About Bon Air

Bon Air Amenities

It’s easy to get out and enjoy nature in Bon Air, with access to trails, parks, and more. Now home to everything from apartments to single-family homes, the Bon Air neighborhood shares its name with Bon Air Park.

The 24-acre park features a playground and picnic tables, as well as tennis and grilling space. The fragrant blooms of Bon Air Memorial Rose Garden honor WWII war veterans.

The rose garden is now home to well more than 100 varieties of roses, which are said to be the most beautiful to visit between the time of late spring and mid fall. The Bluemont/Bon Air Walkabout, meanwhile, is a 2.5-mile main loop with an additional 1.5-mile extension for those who want to get out and go for a walk while enjoying the natural surroundings.

 Bon Air Housing

The neighborhood of Bon Air was primarily built up with the expansion of the railroad and the introduction of electric streetcars. The area now offers a mix of real estate, as you may still come across some older cottages and bungalows, but it’s even more common to find lots where the previously existing home has been torn down and replaced with newer construction.

Sometimes, older homes in the neighborhood still stand, but have likely been renovated to better suit the needs of today’s buyers. For this reason, it’s possible to find some original catalog, Craftsman-style homes, as well as Colonial Revivals and Victorians in Bon Air.

 Bon Air Location

Bon Air is located in Arlington between Wilson Boulevard and N Carlin Springs Road, to the west of N George Mason Drive.  For added convenience the neighborhood sits close enough to major roadways. It’s also only about a mile away from the Ballston Metro station.
