Westlight Condos in High Demand
While the DC area is filled with luxury condos and upscale amenities, one particular building isn’t even finished yet, but already people are camping out for a chance to own a piece of the property. The Westlight condos are currently under construction, located between 23rd and 24th. When finished, residents will be able to simply walk to Downtown, the White House, Dupont Circle or Georgetown.
It’s that convenience, paired with the sheer luxury of the building, that had prospective buyers lined up overnight a few weeks ago, all vying for the chance to obtain one of the buildings first 20 contracts as soon as they were released. The two separate towers of the glass façade building will soon entertain dozens of rental units plus another 71 luxury condos. The building will also feature ground-floor retail and a library.
Westlight, which broke ground in late 2015, will also soon boast walls of glass windows plus natural hardwood flooring in the homes, along with a heated rooftop swimming pool and a fitness center for all residents to enjoy. The building is also set to include a “living green wall” in its lobby and provide 24-hour staffing. As well, it will offer underground garage parking, bicycle storage and a dog washing station.
The one-, two- and three-bedroom homes range from around 630 to more than 3,000 square feet, with many priced in the multi-million dollar range. The next phase of contracts is expected out in late February or March, with a current delivery date expected in June, allowing many residents to move in over the summer.
The West End is filled with unique boutiques, parks, high-end restaurants and museums, where developers have taken notice in recent years with many new businesses and residential buildings going in. The location also boasts three nearby Metro stops, making for an easy commute around the entire DC area.
