Waterfront dining could be coming to Robinson Landing in the near future. The idea goes before the City Planning Commission next month. If approved, it means the addition of a 5,000-square foot waterfront restaurant within the Alexandria luxury condo and town home development.

The proposal calls for the large restaurant to serve up seafood, steaks and a full bar as part of Building 1. Plans additionally extend to a more casual café and outdoor pier restaurant. In total, it should provide space for more than 230 guests inside, on the patio and at the pier.

Plans call for another building at the site to offer indoor and outdoor seating for more than 60 guests at a sushi restaurant. This particular space was originally approved for retail needs.

The new waterfront dining proposal is just one part of the larger development of Robinson Landing. Located along the Alexandria waterfront, the entire mixed-use project takes up a full city block.

The property additionally makes space for 70 condos and more than two-dozen town homes. The condos offer floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the Potomac River and open designs. Inspirational extras include quartz countertops, European-style cabinetry, wide-plank hardwoods, plus some units with private balconies or terraces.

Meanwhile, the townhomes are designed to blend in with the existing Old Town neighborhood. Many of them offer such luxuries as large rooftop terraces and private elevators. As well, new buyers are treated to high ceilings and the convenience of a two-car garage. The property additionally includes access to such community amenities as a fitness center, yoga studio, pet grooming spa and concierge service.

Once an industrial site, Robinson Landing is quickly emerging with new residential offerings, plus options in shopping and dining such as the newly proposed waterfront restaurant. The large development is expected to be finished by spring of next year.
