The historic Wardman Tower is being transformed into 32 luxury condominiums and sales are underway.  The luxurious Wardman Tower has been a DC fixture for over eighty years with its appealing Georgian Revival architecture and manicured gardens. One of the most fashionable addresses in Washington, the former apartment building is being transformed into 32 luxury condos, and expected to be completed by late summer.

The architect for the historic building has blended its traditional lines with an open and airy contemporary design, including updated kitchens and bathrooms to match modern tastes. The building features 4 floors with 6 condo residences per floor, and four homes per floor on the upper two levels will offer penthouse units with a private roof terrace. Interior home details will include wide-plank oak floors, crown moldings, baseboards and new windows. Residences will have at least two parking spaces per unit.

Amenities for residents will include a full-time Concierge, nine full-time staff for the 32 condos, including a doorman, valet parking, and porter service. Building amenities will also include a fitness center with a yoga studio and rooms for personal training; two clubrooms with a catering kitchen and a terrace opening to an English garden; 35 private storage spaces; and a rooftop terrace with outdoor kitchen. Residences will be priced from the high $2 millions to more than $9 million. The public spaces will be positioned at the end of each home to take advantage of city and tree top views.

Built in 1928 by one of DC’s most important developers, Harry Wardman, the Wardman Tower was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1984. Over the years, dozens of Washington elite and celebrities have made their home at the Wardman Towers, including Dwight D. Eisenhower, Lyndon B. Johnson, Marlene Dietrich, and Herbert Hoover. During the 1970’s, the building became part of the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel that was connected to the luxurious apartment building and residents were able to enjoy housekeeping and room service. With the current renovation, the hotel will be separated from the condos.

This iconic building is located at the corner of Connecticut Avenue and Woodley Road, NW, in the Woodley Park neighborhood of DC. It’s perched between the National Zoo and lively Dupont Circle neighborhood. The location is within walking distance to the Woodley Park Metro Station and among the most valuable real estate in Washington, DC.
