Wardman Tower: Luxury Abounds
Luxury certainly abounds at Wardman Tower, where newly designed, upscale condos are now officially on the market. First constructed in the early 1920s, the historic structure has since been transformed into some of the city’s most exclusive real estate, with a select number of new condominium homes now available to prospective buyers.
With the option of a two-, three- or four-bedroom floor plan, the condos of Wardman Tower range from approximately 2,500 square feet to 4,600 square feet of living space, incorporating some of the building’s traditional design features with more modern appeal. Priced starting at less than $3 million, nearly half of the 32-condo units within the tower are already sold. The most expensive unit tops out at around $9 million.
Common features of the homes include custom crown molding, custom cabinetry, marble and quartz countertops and some wide plank hardwood flooring. As well, it’s also common to find some heated floors in the baths, plus other high-end features that are certainly appealing to new buyers.
While some of the units within the building come complete with balconies and oversized terraces, the building itself also offers rooftop terraces, as well as a yoga studio and fitness center, plus two clubrooms. In addition, the property provides underground parking and an outdoor garden, plus spectacular views of the National Cathedral, the monuments and downtown. Other features of the building include concierge service, valet parking, porter service and a doorman.
The tower formerly served as home to three US presidents, including Herbert Hoover, Lyndon B Johnson and Dwight D Eisenhower. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in the mid 1980s, well before the most recent two-year redesign, which transformed the building into its current state.
Located close to some of DC’s most enviable and gracious attractions, the nine-story Wardman Tower sits at Woodley Road and Connecticut Avenue.
