Two of Our Favorite DC Blocks

The surge in loft-style condo developments throughout DC is centered in two popular areas of the city: Logan Circle and Adams Morgan.  We looked at two of our favorite DC blocks---the 1400 Block of Church Street and the 2300 block of Champlain Street---and found two kinds of lofts that are currently reigning supreme in popularity---units in repurposed buildings that were previously industrial, commercial, religious or school buildings, or loft-style units in newly built buildings.  Upscale state-of-the-art buildings continue to surge in popularity along the 14th Street corridor in DC, and in particular the 1400 block of Church Street in the Logan Circle neighborhood.  Beautiful designer finishes and modern contemporary interiors are staples of these blocks.  For an urban lifestyle and easy walkable location in the epicenter of Logan Circle, residents can walk to a variety of restaurants, Whole Foods market and other neighborhood attractions, including the Logan Tavern, Starbucks and Vida Fitness.  

Many of the more unique DC residential loft developments are located on the 1400 block of Church Street in buildings that were formerly DC auto showrooms, whether it’s a newly revitalized industrial building or a more recent project.  Lofts 14 at 1401 Church Street have one of the best private roof top decks in the 14th Street corridor.  The building features many upscale appointments throughout.  There is a diverse collection of loft developments in The Metro, located in DC’s mid-city loft district on the 1400 block of Church Street offering city chic in a 7-story development featuring 53 industrial design lofts. It’s a past winner of a Residential Design Award by the Washingtonian magazine.  Many of the condos in this building are industrial lofts with high ceilings, exposed ductwork, concrete and brick walls, and floor-to-ceiling windows.  Residents of Church Street lofts take pleasure in easy walking distance to favorite Logan Circle neighborhood attractions like Whole Foods, Starbucks, Logan Tavern and CVS on P Street, and favorite restaurants including Birch & Barley, Masa 14, Bar Pilar on 14th Street.
