Top 5 DC Projects Under Construction
A number of exciting mixed-use projects are well underway in DC right now, bringing new residential options, retail and top-notch amenities to the area. From the waterfront to the U Street Corridor, the future is bright for new construction in the area.
Going up right on the Capitol Riverfront, RiverPoint promises the allure of water and city views from a location on Buzzard Point. This thoughtfully designed property will soon feature restaurants, shops and a food hall, along with your choice of sophisticated, upscale apartment homes. Future amenities range from a rooftop infinity pool to direct water access and a location that’s within walking distance of both Nats Park and Audi Field.
Scheduled for a 2020 delivery, Eckington Yards is another one of DC’s most anticipated new projects. The planned community calls for a total of four buildings, including condos and city homes. The project is also set to feature tens of thousands of square feet of new retail space, bicycle space and underground parking.
A major redevelopment is underway at the site of the former Fannie Mae headquarters in DC. City Ridge is described as an urban village and calls for hundreds of new residential units, a hotel, retail space and office space. In addition, City Ridge will include a highly anticipated Wegmans grocery store.
A short stroll from Nationals Park and the closest Metro station, the new West Half building also sits within walking distance of Yards Park and the Anacostia Waterfront. This new construction property promises hundreds of residential units, stadium-facing terraces and retail space.
Meanwhile, The Wren is going in near the U Street Corridor. Hundreds of apartments will join such building amenities as a rooftop swimming pool, interior courtyard and a nearby Whole Foods Market. The Wren is expected to deliver sometime in 2020.
