There is so much to see and do in DC, from visiting historic sites to national monuments and museums. But if you’re looking for some of the most instagrammable spots in the DC area, you may want to check out some of these top spots:

Culture House DC

The Washington Cathedral is an incredible site to see, but there’s another old church that really stands out. Known as Culture House DC, the site is just as colorful on the outside as it is on the inside. While the building houses art, it is truly a work of art itself, and makes a fantastic backdrop for Instagram.

Kogod Courtyard

Head inside under a ceiling made completely of glass at Kogod Courtyard. This massive courtyard is attached to the Smithsonian American Art Museum and the National Portrait Gallery. While some people use the courtyard to take a break and get off their feet, you only need to point your camera up or take a wide-angle view to truly enjoy the space in a new light.

Washington Monument

One of the most visible monuments is Washington Monument, and for good reason. It’s DC’s tallest building, which explains why it’s so easy to spot. You’re sure to find lots of great spots to get a photo. Whether you’re up close or a bit farther away, you’re still sure to get an awe-inspiring angle.

Lincoln Memorial

The site of countless selfies, you have your choice of backdrops at Lincoln Memorial. Once you’ve visited Abe himself, turn around and take some pics looking out over the Reflecting Pool. You can also get some great shots on the steps leading up to the monument.

US Capitol Building

While the White House is normally where people head, it’s hard to get a good picture from behind the barriers. Instead, you may want to try the US Capitol building. Try to plan your visit around sunrise to get some photos looking out across the reflecting pool.
