Eckington is a great central location in the area north of Union Station. The Lexicon promises to be an amenity-rich development of 182 condos, featuring 1 and 2-bedroom residential units. Residents will be able to walk to two Metro Stations---NoMa-Gallaudet and Rhode Island Avenue Stations, or take several Metrobus lines to close in downtown. Prices start from the high $300s and sales will begin soon.
The state-of-the-art amenities include an outdoor temperature-controlled cascading pool; 24-hour concierge; onsite fitness center; clubroom; business center; storage units; and controlled access underground parking spaces available to residents. The Lexicon will offer 1 and 2-bedroom floor plans, including 1 BR | 1 BR+Den | 2 BR | 2 BR+Den. The brand new condo building is located at 50 Florida Avenue, NE, near the trendy NoMa area. The ground floor of the Lexicon features 8,000 square feet of retail. The location is between North Capitol Street and Eckington Place. It is walking distance to NoMa-Gallaudet Station on the Washington Metro Red Line. Capital Bikeshare has a station here too.
The Eckington neighborhood is adjacent to the Bloomingdale and Edgewood neighborhoods. The eight-mile Metropolitan Branch Trail for jogging, biking and walking is to the east; North Capitol Street to the west; Florida Avenue to the south; and Rhode Island Avenue to the north border it. A popular local hangout is Big Bear Café with outdoor seating, and nearby are restaurants, grocery stores, and recreation with parks. Union Market is 1 ½ miles away. Eckington’s colorful row houses appear in the opening credits of the hit Netflix series, “House of Cards.” The neighborhood is dotted with 2-story houses with front porches and small front yards. The architectural style dominates with Victorian homes detailed with steep roofs, and Federal structure homes with flat roofs. Condo buildings have been sprouting up in Eckington, as well. A canopy of mature elm trees graces the streets.
