As DC’s fastest growing neighborhood, there’s plenty to do, see and explore at the Capitol Riverfront. Set right alongside the Anacostia River, the area is filled with restaurants, entertainment options and opportunities to get out on the water.

A rebranding of the old Navy Yard, the reimagined area is quickly growing in interest and in popularity in the DC area. While the former Navy shipyard still plays an important role for the US Navy and in history, it now includes much, much more.

You’ll still find the National Museum of the US Navy here, but the area once widely known as Navy Yard has grown into its own. The Capitol Riverfront is now home to the Washington Nationals, and quickly attracting more and more businesses to its office space.

Thousands of people now work in the agencies, non-profits and other companies that already have office space in the area. It’s also growing in popularity with buyers and renters too, as more and more people make the move to the Capitol Riverfront.

Mostly young professionals and millennials, area residents are moving into lofts, apartments and penthouse units, all just a stroll away from shopping, dining and area entertainment. This urban neighborhood also offers hotels and ten-acres of parks for added outdoor space and recreation.

Year-round events provide fun for residents and visitors, while area attractions range from canoeing and kayaking to water taxis and boat docks. You’ll also, of course, find plenty of opportunities for shopping and dining in the area of the Capitol Riverfront, while restaurants and bars provide space to grab a bite to eat, or a cocktail at the end of the day.

Just to the south of the US Capitol, the Capitol Riverfront continues to grow and evolve, as more businesses, residents and offerings move into this exciting DC neighborhood.
