The Barker is Coming Soon to NE

A brand new condo building is coming soon to NE Washington. The Barker is a new property from Lock 7 Development that’s currently under construction along 4th Street Northeast in the Brentwood neighborhood.

Expected to be finished in 2022, The Barker will eventually offer space for 29 residential units. The four-story building promises a number of different layouts for prospective condo buyers to consider.

A majority of the units in the contemporary-style building will be one-bedroom, one-bath units. The property will also offer some two-bedroom, two-bath condos and a handful of one-bedroom plus a den units with one-bath.

This is a new, ground-up construction property in the neighborhood. The developer recently purchased two lots in Brentwood to construct the new building.

A big bonus in terms of The Barker has to do with its location. The new building is within walking distance of the closest Metro and not far from the many delights of Rhode Island Avenue.

The trendy neighborhood offers a number of shops and restaurants for locals to consider. The friendly area also has recreational options, including space for families plus easy access to the Metropolitan Branch Trail.

This growing community is convenient for commuters, too. With new options like The Barker coming to the neighborhood, it’s no wonder that more and more prospective buyers are considering making a move to Edgewood.

Lock7 Development is a boutique firm that specializes in mixed-use properties and multi-family buildings in DC and North Carolina. The firm prides itself on bringing environmentally-friendly building techniques and creative designs to well-established, walkable urban communities like Edgewood.

That likely makes the neighborhood a perfect fit for the company in DC. The Brentwood and adjacent Edgewood neighborhoods already offer a mix of sleek new condos and turn-of-the-century row houses. It is additionally home to Trinity Washington University and close to Catholic University of America.
