At home within a design originally constructed in the early 1980s for office space, the new 2501 M development is proving extremely popular in the West End, even before the first residents move in. Set for an early Fall 2017 delivery, the condos will soon top the DC area’s first Nobu restaurant on the building’s ground floor, already touted by some as perhaps the priciest restaurant ever constructed in DC.

The 59 luxury residences range from around 1,000 square feet to some of around 2,200 square feet in size, highlighted by high-end features, from white oak flooring to sweeping floor-to-ceiling windows. In addition, the units offer the graceful distinction of either a large balcony or a private terrace.

The square footage that previously housed offices is now being transformed into high-end condos, complete with ground-level retail space, including the top sushi restaurant, Nobu. The top three levels of the building will remain condos, and the existing residents are living in their homes throughout this new construction process.

While much of the building’s original exterior design will stay, plans call for sprucing it up by adding a new

The former Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) headquarters in DC’s West End neighborhood in northwest DC was sold and will be converted to 60 new luxury condominiums.  This building at 2501 M Street NW has been sold to a DC real estate investor who plans to turn the office building into all luxury condos and add retail shops on the ground level.  The 8-story West End building, known as the Westgate, is already home to residential condos on the top three floors with commercial office space on the other floors.  But that will soon change.  The 2501 M Street address offers a centrally convenient location within walking distance to the Foggy Bottom and Dupont Metro stations, a Trader Joe’s market, and several upscale fitness centers.  Major
