Somerset House Features Climate-Controlled Wine Room Among Other Amenities

While some of DC’s top condo buildings often come with top amenities, a climate-controlled wine room with a tasting table is just one of the many extras you’ll find at Somerset House. The stately condo property was originally designed more than 100 years ago and converted into condos about a decade ago.

Today, the pet-friendly property additionally features an exercise room, extra storage space and a bicycle storage room, an elevator, and concierge. In addition, there’s a common laundry room for residents to utilize and some nearby surface parking.

As well, the seven-story condo complex is now home to around 80 condominium homes. Some of the smallest units are studios with less than 400 square feet of living space, but there are also some one-bedroom/one-bath units, some two-bedroom/two-bath units, and some spacious three-bedroom condos.

Some of the largest units at Somerset House sometimes include combined space of upwards of 1,900 square feet of living space. You may also find oversized windows in the units, hardwood flooring, original crown moldings, and high ceilings.

As well, you may find custom closets in the mid-rise building, gourmet kitchens with granite countertops, stainless-steel appliances, and custom cabinetry. Part of DC’s Dupont Circle neighborhood, living in the area means living alongside embassies, mansions, and row homes.

The address also means living close to multiple bus lines and two Metro stations, making for an easier commute around the rest of DC. A majority of the Northwest DC neighborhood is on the national Register of Historic Places.

In addition, you’ll find plenty of trendy places to shop and grab a bite to eat, including area restaurants and bars, coffee shops, retail stores, and a weekly farmers’ market. The neighborhood shares its name with an actual traffic circle. The park in the middle of the circle contains a fountain and some benches.
