Perla Coming to Shaw
Sales should open soon at Perla, one of the newest mixed-use buildings planned for the Shaw neighborhood. The nine-story building will soon provide dozens of new condos and underground parking to the area. In addition, the new property brings in thousands of square feet or retail space, soon to be located on the ground floor of the building.
Previously the site of a prominent church, the cathedral closed its doors several years ago, eventually torn down to make room for developers to construct the new property. Located at 9th Street and O Street NW, this puts future residents within easy access of shopping, dining and entertainment offerings.
Meanwhile, options for new buyers will include either a one- or a two-bedroom condo, with most residences additionally offering up at least one private balcony for outdoor space.
Some of the units additionally include a den for added living space. Common features of the homes include the high ceilings and the sweeping floor-to-ceiling windows. As well, buyers can expect to find such high-end additions as Italian cabinetry, luxurious baths and chef-inspired kitchens with quartz countertops, a kitchen island and high-end appliances.

It’s expected that prices for the new units at Perla will start in the mid $600,000s, with the first possible sales occurring in early 2019. Some of the largest units are priced starting around $2 million.
