The West End is a fashionable neighborhood in northwest DC, getting its moniker from a time when it was the westernmost part of the city before the annexation of Georgetown, which is 3 blocks away.  It is home to embassies, upscale condos, George Washington University, luxury hotels, and fine dining restaurants.  One of DC’s most desirable neighborhoods, the West End is adjacent to Georgetown, Foggy Bottom, Dupont Circle and Downtown.  It is bounded by K Street to the south, Rock Creek Park to the west and north, and New Hampshire and 21st Street to the east.  We scoured the West End neighborhood for our Top 3 condo developments: 2501 Penn, Columbia Condos and Twenty Five O One.

2501 Penn
2501 Penn is a stunning luxury modern-style condominium building on the highly desirable corner of Pennsylvania Avenue and 25th Street, NW.  This 8-story complex was converted in 2008 from a 19th century office building to upscale condos and is home to 16 exclusive residences ranging in size from 2,200 SF to 4,500 SF penthouses with private roof terraces.  Pet friendly, these spacious homes feature high ceilings, hardwood flooring, Varenna cabinetry, high-end finishes, and top-of-the-line appliances in the kitchens like Sub Zero, Bosch, and Thermador as well as Waterworks baths in the elegant master suites.  Amenities in the 2501 Penn building include a 24-hour front desk, concierge, garage parking and extra storage.  2501 Penn is walking distance to the Foggy Bottom Metro Station just 1 block away and minutes from Georgetown and the Kennedy Center.  Residents enjoy easy walking to restaurants, theaters, shops, parks and Trader Joe’s.  2501 Penn is convenient and quick access to all parts of DC.

Columbia Condos
Columbia Condos is one of the largest and most luxurious condominium developments in the upscale West End neighborhood.  An address steeped in history, Columbia Condos is perched on the corner of L Street and 25th Street, NW, formerly the site of the Columbia Hospital of Women.  It was converted in 2006 to a 9-story condo building home to 225 residences in 3 buildings.  Condos range in size from 700-2,500 SF, featuring hardwood flooring, a balcony, walk-in closets, and designer finishes in the gourmet kitchen.  Appliances are only high end Bosch, Sub Zero, Viking and Thermador.  On the ground floor, there is convenient retail for residents, including a Trader Joe’s in the building.  Posh building amenities include a fitness center, pool, parking, a 24-hour front desk and extra storage.  Columbia Condos is within walking distance to the Foggy Bottom Metro Station and steps to the Whole Foods and George Washington University.

Twenty Five O One
Twenty Five O One is a contemporary condominium building located on the corner of M Street and 25th Street, NW, in the much sought-after West End neighborhood.  Delivered in 1997, the 7-story building is pet friendly and offers 35 residences; many have had kitchens and baths recently renovated.  Units feature a fireplace and balcony or terrace, garage parking available and extra storage.  Conveniently located, Twenty Five O One is within walking distance of the Foggy Bottom Metro Station.
