Ontario 17 Coming to Adams Morgan

Urban buyers who see living in downtown DC and Adams Morgan as the best amenity a building can offer will want to take a look at The Ontario 17 Condominium in Adams Morgan located in the dynamic intersection of 17th Street and Columbia Road, NW.  Minutes from the Woodley Park and Columbia Heights Metro Stations, Ontario 17 will open in spring 2015 on the former site of the Ontario Theater.  This is an ideal place for young professionals and empty nesters who want to own a condo in the neighborhood between Columbia Heights and Kalorama.

The $30 million redevelopment will transform the vibrant corner into a 6-story, upscale mixed-use condominium featuring 80 residential units and 9,000 square feet of retail space below along Columbia Road.    Each unit of Ontario 17 will feature its own private balcony.  The 80 residential condo units will include studios from 370 square feet, 1-bedrooms from 675 square feet and 2-bedrooms from 980 square feet.  A well-appointed lobby and a large community rooftop terrace overlooking downtown DC and the National Mall will add to the modern beauty of this historic building.  The units are expected to sell from $200,000 to more than $600,000.

The Peterson Companies will retain some of the historic features in its design yet also add modern touches.  The building’s exterior will include detailed brickwork, glass storefront and windows and the original Ontario Theater canopy.  The ground floor will showcase marquee-style signs in keeping with its Theater origins.  There will be underground car and bicycle parking for resident owners as well as storage units.  This will be one of the largest for-sale multifamily developments under construction in DC outside of CityCenterDC’s planned 216-unit Residences at CityCenter.
