Prospective condo buyers in DC’s Eckington neighborhood have dozens of options to consider in the near future. The new Eckington Yards community provides for four interconnected buildings housing residential space, retailers and parking.
When complete, plans call for Eckington Yards to be made up of hundreds of apartments and condos. The mixed-use development plans for those residences to be joined by plenty of retail space, all centered around a pedestrian thoroughfare.
Two of those buildings are slated for apartments, one consists of stacked townhome-style City Homes, while the remaining building is for condos. The multi-building development is sure to offer a range of options for prospective residents.
As part of Eckington Yards, 1625 Eckington is made up of mostly one- and two-bedroom condo floor plans. There will are be some penthouse units available, with 179 condos in all making up this part of the development.
Currently under construction, conceptual drawings of the new condos show residences topping retailers with walls of windows and the inclusion of some private balconies. The property also shows some rooftop space.
Few other details are widely available right now concerning the condos. Sales have not yet begun for the new residences of Eckington Yards.
Along with the residential units, however, it seems Eckington Yards will also offer some underground parking spaces and some designated bicycle spaces. This highly anticipated new property has already attracted such names as Union Kitchen, a grocer and membership-based commercial kitchen, and Brooklyn Boulders, a New York-based climbing gym.
Eventually, plans call for adding tens of thousands of square feet of retail space to the Eckington community. Located in Northeast DC, the Eckington neighborhood offers a location that’s close to downtown and close to some other well-known neighborhoods, including NoMa.
Eckington is also home to colorful rowhouses, soon to be joined by the new construction residential options of Eckington Yards.
