There’s a new owner of a prominent half-acre property in Massachusetts Avenue Heights. The property, once belonging to conservative political commentator John McLaughlin, reportedly just sold for more than $2.6 million.

The late public affairs host lived in the home for about three decades before his death in August 2016. According to published reports, his former home sold within the past week for $2.625 million, making the sale price more than its original $2.495 million asking price, listed only this past July.

Originally constructed in the mid 1950s, the Mass Avenue Heights home was expanded in the 1980s. McLaughlin also added terraces to the home, last renovating it in 2010.  With more than 7,300 square feet of living space, the home sits

There’s a new high-profile homeowner in Massachusetts Heights, making the latest multi-million dollar home sale connected to the incoming White House administration. Newly coined Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin reportedly purchased the $12.6 million home several weeks ago.

Located on Rock Creek Drive NW, the home was publicly sold off-market to an undisclosed buyer, listed only as a trust. Since then, however, multiple published reports have linked the home to Mnuchin.

Overlooking Rock Creek Park, the mansion offers nine-bedrooms, 11 full bathrooms and several more half-baths. Constructed in 2001, the estate also includes several fireplaces, a light-filled indoor swimming pool and sauna, a fitness room, media screening room and a wine cellar.

Washington National Cathedral is considered to be a national house of prayer for all people, and its beauty has earned it a #3 spot by the American Institute of Architects’ list of favorite architecture.  The idea for a national cathedral dates all the way back to President George Washington.  In 1893, Congress granted a charter to the Protestant Episcopal Cathedral Foundation of DC to build a Cathedral for national purposes.  President Benjamin Harrison signed into law what is now known as the Washington National Cathedral.  The Cathedral was then built on the highest point in DC.  It is an impressive soaring structure in a Neo-Gothic style with architectural sculpture, woodcarving, gargoyles, mosaics and over 200 stained glass windows.

5th Avenue in New York.....North Lake Shore Drive in Chicago.....Turtle Creek Boulevard in Dallas and Louisburg Square in Boston are widely recognized as the most expensive streets for residential real estate in these cities.  This begs the question of what is DC's most expensive street?

In a quick informal poll, Tracy Place in Kalorama was the popular answer, although not a clear-cut winner like some of the other cities.  Wikipedia anoints Woodland Drive as DC's most expensive street, but lacks a citation backing up this proclamation.  Woodland Drive was also recognized as DC's most expensive street by Forbes Magazine in a 2007 story about the nation's most expensive blocks.

In reviewing MLS data of sold listings over the last two years, three
