Marked as one of the first DC developments to include residential, retail and office space in one location, Market Square is now well in the midst of a makeover, transforming the stately buildings from 25-year old architectural wonders to reflections of more modern and contemporary design elements.
Market Square includes 700,000 square feet of office and retail space, plus the addition of more than 200 luxury condos, split between two buildings. Recent improvements consist of a more light-filled lobby, outfitted with glass panels surrounding the main door, plus an oversized street address. Meanwhile, the inside has added new bronze finishes as well as LED lighting and new Italian stone in the floors.
A remodeled fitness center has tripled in size, now including a yoga studio and full-time trainer with complimentary fitness classes for tenants. An eight floor marketing center is also new, targeting tenants such as Fortune 500 companies, CBS and Ford.
While phase one cost $15 million, phase two tacks on another $10 million to the budget, with plans calling for a large conference center, tenants-only lounge and private restaurant. Scheduled to be finished in spring of 2017, this phase is also targeting outdoor improvements.
Priced from the low $300,000s to around $1.5 million, the Residences at Market Square come complete with garage parking, a swimming pool, rooftop deck and private outdoor space. Other top amenities include 24-hour security with your choice of one or two-bedroom residences.
The development also offers some of the most impressive views of Pennsylvania Avenue, the Washington Monument, Navy Memorial and the Capitol Dome. As well, the location offers up close proximity to three Metro stations, plus an array of dining establishments and theaters in the DC area. Trendy Penn Quarter is also desirable for hosting various cultural, art, food and wine festivals throughout the year, while remaining either a short walk or ride away from numerous other sites and attractions in the region.
