Kamala Harris Selling at Westlight

Now that Vice President Kamala Harris is finally in her official DC home, it appears she’s ready to give up her former digs. The VP and her husband recently moved into Number One Observatory Circle, which is where the Vice President traditionally lives.

The prestigious address isn’t the only place in DC the couple’s called home. The former U.S. Senator and her husband own a luxury condo in Westlight, and it’s now up for sale.

On the market for $1.995 million, that tops the $1.775 million the couple paid for the West End property in late 2017. At more than 1,700 square foot in size, the condo comes with two-bedrooms plus a den and two-baths.

It also includes a custom kitchen with Italian cabinetry. The homes of Westlight generally offer large windows, wide plank hardwood flooring and spa-like baths.

As for the amenities, the West End condo building provides its residents with a rooftop swimming pool and grilling terrace. It also offers a private clubroom, a fitness facility and 24-hour concierge service.

The location is certainly desirable, as well. The building sits within close proximity to Downtown, Dupont Circle and Georgetown.

It’s not the only property Vice President Harris has put up for sale since taking office. She and her husband also recently sold a condo in San Francisco.  The one-bedroom, 1.5-bath California loft sold for considerably more than the couple paid in 2004. It was only on the market for about a week.

Due to ongoing renovations at the VP’s home, the couple had most recently been living in the Blair House. Located just across from the White House, the historic home is usually used for visiting heads of state.

The Vice President’s official residence reportedly was due for some refurbishments, including updates to its hardwood floors, plus some repair work on its chimneys and some HVAC system maintenance.
