With a mix of historic properties, Kalorama Triangle continues to thrive, enjoying the reputation as a walkable, quiet urban neighborhood. Bordered by Columbia Road, Calvert Street and Connecticut Avenue, the residential neighborhood of Kalorama Triangle is part of DC’s Northwest Quadrant.

While once known simply as Kalorama, the area was later split off into the more urban Kalorama Triangle and the more residential, Sheridan-Kalorama. While more modest in nature than some of its Sheridan-Kalorama residential counterparts, the homes of Kalorama Triangle retain the charm of yesteryear, with even new development designed to blend in with the neighborhood’s early 20th century architecture.

It’s common to find a variety of styles and building types in the area, with row upon row of up to four-story row houses lining the streets, complimented by multi-family apartments buildings, some of which now serve as condos or co-ops. With the combination of Georgian Revival, English Arts and Crafts and Spanish Revival-style architecture, many of the historic homes and buildings still standing in the area were constructed near the early 1900s to 1920s, with the area fully developed by the early 30s. From a one-bedroom, one-bath condo to a sprawling and elegant townhouse, the options are truly endless.

A short distance from the White House, Kalorama Triangle residents enjoy the close proximity of Kalorama Park as well as the large Rock Creek Park. This pedestrian-friendly area is also close to DuPont Circle and the varied options of vibrant Adams Morgan, with a number of restaurants and available nightlife.

A variety of different bars, bistros and boutiques line Connecticut Avenue, making it easy to enjoy a range of possibilities. As well, history aficionados will definitely enjoy the historic architecture of the area.

What neighbors cannot reach on foot they are easily able to visit via Metro. Two Metro stations are within convenient access of the neighborhood, adding to the allure of this walkable, urban neighborhood.
