Jake Tapper Sells in Forest Hills
Another noteworthy DC property is off the market. Chief Washington correspondent and CNN host Jake Tapper just sold his nearly 3,000 square foot, Northwest DC home. A new owner purchased the property, located not far from Rock Creek Park in Forest Hills, late last month for $1.4 million.
While there’s no word on whether the new owner is as recognizable as Tapper, the fantastic attributes of the home are definitely easy to see. According to the home’s listing the entire property has been updated. With an admirable four levels of living space, the home includes four-bedrooms and 3.5-baths, along with a living room with a fireplace and built-ins, separate dining room with plenty of natural light and a breakfast room off the kitchen, filled with stainless steel appliances.
In addition, the home includes a customized office with built-ins and a private balcony, along with a master suite outfitted with a walk-in closet and cathedral ceiling. The master bath offers a claw foot tub and separate, glass-enclosed shower. With wood flooring throughout, the lower level of the home additionally features another comfortable fireplace with a bonus room perfect for a second family room or extra entertaining space.
While the home stands out for its bright pink front door it also features an elongated front porch and desirable wraparound deck on the back, with views of the nearby park and some private outdoor dining and living space. The home backs up to a wooded area too, with plenty of privacy for the next owner to enjoy.
Tapper and his wife purchased the home a decade ago for $1.2 million and were reportedly in the market for a home offering more outdoor space. While the backyard of this particular property isn’t exceptionally large, it is close to the abundant outdoor possibilities of nearby Rock Creek Park. In addition, the Forest Hills neighborhood is only about five miles from the White House.
