It’s Not a Comic – It’s The Archie
It may share a name with a popular comic, but there’s nothing old school about one of DC’s most anticipated new condo buildings. The Archie is a brand new residential property in the Petworth neighborhood.
Consisting of around 40 new construction condos, buyers can choose from studios, one- and two-bedroom floor plans. With both modern finishes and industrial detailing, the homes not only offer the appeal of new construction, but also a very contemporary and distinctive style.
Condo owners at The Archie share access to a rooftop terrace and a convenient address. The Archie sits at the corner of Georgia Avenue NW and Kansas Avenue NW.
The property is extremely close to an organic market and close to several restaurants, too. It’s also within a few blocks of the closest Metro station.
Petworth is a residential neighborhood that’s known for is community-wide events and its history. The neighborhood hosts an annual celebration of art, food, music and more each summer called Celebrate Petworth.
In addition, the Petworth Jazz Project runs during the summer months, plus the Petworth Community Market operates on select weekends during the year. The friendly neighborhood also boasts everything from bistros to bookstores.
As for its historical side, the neighborhood is home to President Lincoln’s Cottage. The historic site and museum is located on the grounds of the Old Soldiers’ Home. Open to the public, the cottage routinely hosts special events, guided tours, exhibits and programming.
The new, four-story condominium building is a new ground-up condo property from Lock 7 Development. The DC developer is a boutique firm that specializes is mixed-use properties, multi-family buildings and self-storage facilities.
Lock 7 is also the force behind another new development called The Commodore. That property sits in the 16th Street Heights neighborhood in Northwest Washington. It includes around two-dozen, contemporary-style condos.
