Glover Park is DC’s Hottest Real Estate Market
If you’re looking for a new DC area neighborhood, Glover Park is the place to be. The community is DC’s hottest real estate market right now, luring in new residents with its relatively more affordable housing and its charm.
Prices are going up, however, as more and more people begin to see all that the neighborhood has to offer. Close to such other highly coveted neighborhoods as Georgetown, Dupont and Kalorama, Glover Park continues to attract new interest from buyers, with many predicting now is the time to get in on a home in the area.
Filled with row houses, Glover Park is extremely popular with families. Mostly built up from the 1920s through the 1940s, it’s also possible to find some condos and co-ops in the area, many of which began as apartments in the mid-century.
You’ll also find some rentals, particularly appealing to recent college graduates. While you’ll likely find students from neighboring Georgetown University in Glover Park, you’ll also find government workers, middle-class employees and some young professionals.
Noted as a mostly quiet and comfortable neighborhood, Glover Park is home to one of the area’s best elementary schools, plus the outdoor recreational opportunities of Guy Mason Park. In addition, the neighborhood features several family-friendly restaurants and retailers, a seasonal farmers’ market and community gardens.
Most commercial businesses in Glover Park line Wisconsin Avenue, where you’ll find a growing foodie scene with plenty of variety for diners to choose from. While there’s not a Metro station in Glover Park, several bus lines do service the neighborhood.
Some view this as more of the charm of Glover Park; supplying the feel of a small town, complimented by the ease of growing urban conveniences. It’s not uncommon for the neighborhood to host annual events and classes either, all geared towards developing a true sense of community in one of DC’s hottest real estate markets.
