If you’re ready to make a move to the suburbs, you’ll probably want to put Falls Church at the top of your list. It was just named one of “America’s Most Livable Suburbs” by RenoFi.com.

The home renovation loan provider looked at more than 600 suburban areas all across the nation to come up with the list. When everything was tallied, Falls Church came in at number two.

RenoFi looked at eight different factors in deciding the top suburban areas, including median house price, median house price growth, median household income growth and median household income. Analysts also considered the crime rate, unemployment rate and average property tax rate.

Finally, they factored in the patient to primary care physician ratio. That category and the crime rate each received a double weight in the final analysis.

With a population of around 14,000 residents, the median household income in Falls Church tops $124,000. The median house price is around $757,000.

Out of a possible high score of 10 for overall livability, Falls Church received a total of 7.57. That put it just behind the first place finisher.

Falls Church scored extremely well in the ratio of patient to primary care physician and the category of unemployment. The unemployment rate in Falls Church is around two-percent.

The only suburb that scored higher than Falls Church overall was Druid Hills. The affluent suburb sits just outside of Atlanta.  The DC suburb of Pimmit Hills came in at number three. McLean made it in the top 20.

What Falls Church lacks in size it certainly makes up for in terms of location and amenities. This tiny city offers a mix of single-family homes, townhomes, condos and apartments. You’ll also find boutique stores, local restaurants and easy access to some of DC’s most popular sites and attractions.
