Explore National Harbor
From shopping and dining to water sports and entertainment, there’s plenty to explore at National Harbor. Set right alongside the Potomac River, the waterfront destination is home to dozens of restaurants, countless stores, numerous hotels, residences, and a marina.
For hotels and entertainment, head to the MGM casino resort or the luxurious Gaylord National. There are also several other hotels in National Harbor to choose from, while a new Hyatt Place remains under construction right now.
For nightlife, options extend to a dueling piano bar, the lively Cadillac Ranch or a local Irish pub. For those of all age to experience some fantastic views high above the harbor, be sure to take a spin onboard the Capital Wheel.
There’s also a paint bar at National Harbor, the option of relaxing at one of the area spas, or simply taking in a spectacular sunset over the waterfront. Dining options, meanwhile, range from family-friendly selections to date night and happy hour venues.
Shopping transcends from specialty shops and unique boutiques to name brand retailers. While National Harbor routinely hosts activities and events throughout the year, some of the most popular include spring’s Wine & Food Festival, Harbor Halloween, an annual tree lighting and the National Harbor Cherry Blossom Festival.
National Harbor is also home to a more than 60-slip marina, plus provides space for boat and yacht rentals. Other options include taking a water taxi to nearby Old Town, Mount Vernon or The Wharf, plus kayaking and standup paddle-boarding. Future plans also call for a possible new Metro connection via the Woodrow Wilson Bridge.
Of course, some choose to work, play and live all in one convenient location. When it comes to residential selections for this popular waterfront venue, you’ll find plenty of options in condos, apartments and townhomes to choose from at National Harbor.
