DC Ranked Last Nationally in Pet Ownership

The American Veterinary Medical Association recently released results of a survey on pet ownership that it conducts every five years.  Washington, DC was ranked dead last with only 21.9% of the Districts households owning a pet.  After seeing DC ranked first in so many different areas including inbound migration, families and real estate market performance, it seems strange to see DC ranked dead last for something.

There are a number of factors that contribute to DC's last place ranking including the urban nature of DC, the small size of DC homes and condos, the pet restrictions of much of our housing stock and the crazy work schedule of many Washingtonians.

While it can be challenging for pet owners to find places to buy in the District, there are a number of pet-friendly DC condo developments that may be suitable for your requirements.
