DC Lofts: Enjoy Daily Architectural Drama
A recent Decoist article which offered new buyers loft decorating tips caused me to think for quite awhile about some of the wonderfully decorated lofts that we have here in Washington, DC. Whether it is a newly revitalized industrial building or a more recently purpose-built project, we are fortunate to have a diverse collection of loft developments.
Many of the more unique DC loft developments are located on the 1400 block of Church Street, in buildings that formerly housed DC auto showrooms. The 2300 block of Champlain Street in Adams Morgan is location with a concentration of industrial buildings repurposed as residential loft developments.
We are also fortunate to have many surplus school buildings located throughout the city that have been repurposed as residential lofts projects. Stunning lofts are also available in new purpose-built developments like U Street's Union Row, Mather Studios in the Penn Quarter and Madrigal Lofts in the Mount Vernon Triangle neighborhood.
