DC Leads Nation For Inbound Migration

Washington, DC led the nation for the 4th consecutive year for inbound migrations according to a study released by Atlas Van Lines. In 2009, 71% of Atlas moves touching the District involved a move into the city.

The job market here in Washington remains steady and certainly more diverse than other parts of the country.  The good news from Atlas reinforces the sentiments of our team, who continues to field many inquiries from those looking to relocate to the District from all over the country.

Great post! I think the 2010 Census data shed light on just how many people have moved into DC over the last 10 years. Even though the Census Bureau is showing the DC resident population set to surpass 600,000, I think the city estimate is still low. We are probably well over 600,000 by now. This latest data from Atlas Van Lines is reassures my sentiment. We shall see!
