The beautiful, entirely residential neighborhood of Barnaby Woods with its shady paths, canopy of trees reaching over the streets, and flowery shrubs offers a bucolic atmosphere with all the advantages of a location in the District.  Barnaby Woods is a neighborhood in the upper Northwest quadrant of Washington, DC wedged between Rock Creek Park and the Montgomery County, MD state line.  It’s the best of both worlds here: living in DC while feeling like you’re in the suburbs.  Barnaby Woods is bounded by Western Avenue to the west, Beech Street to the north, Oregon Avenue to the east, and Tennyson Avenue to the south.

While many upscale neighborhoods have a pair of lions adorning the community entrance, residents of Chatsworth in Chevy Chase are greeted by a pair of stone unicorns.  In a continuing tribute to  the mythical creatures at the front entrance, the main thoroughfare that winds through the Chatsworth community is called Unicorn Lane.
