Brightwood Real Estate Market Hot
If you ever seem to doubt that the real estate market is hot in the DC area, just take a look at the Brightwood neighborhood right now. This up-and-coming community hasn’t always been a bright spot for the area, but things are definitely on the upswing.
The quiet neighborhood is a true mix of suburbia and an urban environment, a place of towering oak trees, green parks and charming homes. Within walking distance of public transportation, the Brightwood neighborhood has undergone a transition of sorts in recent years, giving longtime and new residents more options for the future.
It’s already home to a number of well-kept and desirable residential offerings, from spacious single-family Colonials and bungalows to rowhouses and duplexes. You’ll also find a small collection of condos and apartments in the area, with some properties recently renovated to fit in with the character of the surrounding neighborhood.
Options in recent years have included detached and semi-detached homes, as well as one-bedroom co-ops and sprawling five-bedroom Tudors. With a range of price points to consider, its possible to find everything from a condo in the low $100,000s to a large home in the high $800,000s, plus everything in between.
Commonly, though, many buyers are drawn in by the charm of the area, with quiet streets and established homes. While you won’t find many commercial properties in Brightwood, they’re not too far away. In addition, it’s easy to reach many of the other nearby attractions, including Rock Creek Park.
With similar housing options to nearby Takoma Park, it’s still possible to enjoy the area’s offerings, but at a slightly more affordable price. Even so, the real estate market is definitely hot right now in Brightwood, as more and more prospective buyers are attracted to this desirable section of the DC area.
