Best DC Neighborhoods for Singles

While some DC neighborhoods are better for families, others are ideal for singles. This includes places packed with shops, restaurants, entertainment venues and more.

Georgetown

College students aren’t the only ones drawn to Georgetown. The Georgetown waterfront is a busy spot for boating, biking and dining. The popular neighborhood comes at a price, though. Rentals in Georgetown tend to be on the higher end of the scale, and sometimes hard to find.

Chinatown

For shopping, dining, cultural and entertainment offerings, head to Chinatown. The neighborhood also happens to be home to the Capital One Arena, making it easy to catch a game of the Washington Wizards or the Washington Capitals.

Adams Morgan

Adams Morgan offers nightlife, shopping, dining, and a number of coffee shops. It’s an especially attractive location for young professionals to call home, with colorful rowhouses and an easy commute to Downtown DC.

Capitol Riverfront

The Capitol Riverfront is one of DC’s fastest-growing neighborhoods, and extremely popular with singles. From outdoor recreation to catching a game at Nationals Park, the neighborhood also offers several restaurants, offices and loft-style apartments.

NoMa

The revitalized NoMa neighborhood includes offices, restaurants, shops and new luxury apartments. Home to the popular food hall of Union Market too, NoMa sits within walking distance of downtown and offers easy access to public transportation.

Foggy Bottom

A more attractive price point is what drives some to Foggy Bottom. The neighborhood also happens to be home to George Washington University, which makes it a popular location for young professionals. You’ll find several bars and restaurants in the neighborhood, plus it’s only a short train ride away from downtown.

Logan Circle

Logan Circle offers plenty of nightlife and easy access to Downtown DC, as well. A popular spot for young professionals and singles, this hot neighborhood is full of restaurants, lounges and live music venues.
