4111 Kansas Coming to Petworth
Dozens of new condos are coming to Petworth, where work is currently underway on a new residential project at 4111 Kansas. The condo project from Lock7 Development promises a total of 39 new condos when complete. Currently, it’s scheduled for completion in spring of next year.
A majority of the units in the building will be one-bedroom, one-bath units, while the remaining units are dedicated to two-bedroom and two-bath floor plans. While the developer isn’t releasing many details on the individual condos or community amenities and features just yet, residents will enjoy the ease of a low-maintenance lifestyle. Condo fees take care of things like exterior building maintenance, trash and snow removal, and lawn care for the property.
The site sits between Taylor and Upshur streets NW. It’s not far from the closest Metro stop or far from grocery stores in the neighborhood. Lock7 Development is the force behind several other rental properties and condo buildings in the DC area, including some new construction and some conversion projects.
The developer has other projects in locations such as Columbia Heights, Adams Morgan, Shaw and Logan Circle. This includes some strictly residential buildings, mixed-use buildings and affordable housing options.
As for Petworth, the new condo project at 4111 Kansas brings with it more options for multi-family living possibilities to a mostly residential neighborhood. Petworth is filled with many single-family homes and row houses.
It offers its residents easy access to green space, plus it’s the site of a popular farmer’s market during select months of the year. Petworth also holds an annual street festival and free music series. The neighborhood has also added more commercial space in recent years, including new restaurants and bars, along with the addition of more residential development such as the new condo building coming to 4111 Kansas.
