2501 M Models Open
Models are now open within the highly anticipated conversion project of 2501 M. What used to be a boxy structure housing a nonprofit and topped by just three floors of condos has been in the midst of a transformation, turning the former commercial levels into mostly new condos with a ground floor restaurant.
The recent transformation aims to make the once mushroom-shaped building into a more attractive mostly residential offering, adding glass bump-outs to change its shape, while creating a series of luxury condos within. This involved turning two elevator lobbies into one and creating dozens of new bathrooms in the building to correspond with the number of new residential units. Other new additions include brightening up the building’s dark glass and concrete exterior with a new stone-like, contemporary appearance.
The eight-story building was first constructed in the early 1980s, with recent construction started just a few years ago to turn the building into a total of 60 condos with up to 2,300 square feet of living space, including open floor plans and plenty of natural light. Available floor plans include everything from a one-bedroom, one-bath unit to the largest units containing two-bedrooms plus a den and three-baths.
New homebuyers can expect to find such high-end finishes as white oak flooring and customized lighting. As well, the homes will offer European cabinetry, designer appliances, kitchen islands and the enviable addition of private terraces and balconies for outdoor living space.
In addition, building amenities will range from a landscaped roof terrace to a grilling area, lounge and fully equipped fitness center. Other options for residents include a yoga studio, valet parking, a catering kitchen and a clubroom.
Expected to be completed later this summer, the convenient West End location is right next to a dog park, plus a short walk away from upscale dining options, premiere shopping and outdoor recreation at nearby Rock Creek Park.
