With just weeks left in his second term, President Obama is making plans to trade up Pennsylvania Avenue for the West End. The current president is the latest tenant to sign on for office space in the area, making plans to soon relocate his office to the World Wildlife Fund headquarters building.

Owned by the WWF, the nonprofit leases out space in its building to other tenants, including a law firm and now, the sitting President. The group has been a supporter of President Obama’s efforts in battling climate change while in office, and the building itself was awarded Platinum LEED status by the U.S. Green Building Council. If you want to keep parking at Reston Town Center for free, one option is to purchase a nearby condo. Starting in early January 2017 the area is going to change over from free garage and street parking to a paid parking system for visitors. It will likely be a big change for those who have been able to park in the garages for free since the center first opened in 1990.

The property owner is trying to cut down on the number of commuters who are currently parking in the center’s garages for easier access to the Wiehle-Reston East Metro station. While Reston Town Center is slated to get its own Metro station in the future, it likely won’t be open for another three years. He doesn’t assume federal office until January but already Vice President-elect Mike Pence has moved into the DC area. Pence and his family are currently renting in Chevy Chase, a family-friendly community known for its tree-line streets and affluent residents.
