This charming neighborhood sits in DC’s Northwest quadrant, close in to the center of the city but homes here have backyards and trees.  Beautiful tree-lined streets and great transit access attract people to buy homes here.  You’ll find former residents of Capitol Hill and downtown who’ve moved north up Wisconsin Avenue when they aged out of their city apartments, married and had children.  In AU Park, it feels like the suburbs yet has the urban convenience combined with friendly old-fashioned neighborliness.  You’ll find parks, good schools, and a family-friendly feeling.  An easy commute to downtown DC and the buzz of city life attracts most residents to AU Park.

AU Park is bounded by Massachusetts Avenue, NW to the west, Wisconsin Avenue, NW and

The newly updated Lyon Village dog park that is opening soon will be the eighth community dog area in Arlington.  Named James Hunter Park, after a late Arlington County board chairman, major parts of the dog park have already been installed, like the surface for the community dog area, pathways, public art, lighting and landscaping.  The park is located on the corner of North Herndon Street and N. 13th Street, a short walk from the Clarendon Metro.

The new Lyon Village dog park, designed to be environmentally self-sustaining, will operate an automated water management system that will reuse clean rainwater, and will use recycled materials throughout the park.  The final design for the park shows a plaza terrace for picnicking, gardens, and an open lawn

Our baby boomer-aged readers probably remember the title track to the 1978 movie Grease staring Olivia Newton-John and John Travolta.  This popular song was recorded by none other than Frankie Valli.  To best sum up how we are feeling right now about the H Street neighborhood, just substitute "H Street" for the "Grease" in this song's refrain:

H Street is the word
H Street is the word, is the word that you heard
It's got groove it's got meaning
H Street is the time, is the place is the motion
H Street is the way we are feeling

The biggest hot spot to hit DC is a 12-block strip east of Union Station near the U.S. Capitol on H Street, N.E.  The street is filled with trendy bars, lounges, eateries and cultural venues.  At night, the sidewalks are crowded

Demand for homes is climbing to new heights in the Washington, DC metro area and the supply of homes for sale is the lowest it has been since before the recession.  While most of the nation was hit hard by economic woes, the DC area has been relatively immune, and has continued to enjoy a stable and thriving job market, in large part due to government contracts and military jobs.

The region’s tight inventory---where most homes are sold in only 9 days---is pushing up home prices, and homes are flying off the MLS very quickly.  Bidding wars---or multiple offers on a single house---are becoming the norm in DC real estate.

First time home buyers, who want to live near DC, are chasing fewer available homes in the $300,000-$600,000 price range which are
