Bellevue
If you’re looking for a bike-friendly community in DC, you’ll want to take a second look at Bellevue. Close to Downtown DC and the National Harbor, it’s easy to get around this popular community. Located in far southern DC, Bellevue is almost entirely residential. This centrally located neighborhood takes its name from the old Bellevue mansion that once stood in the area. Torn down for use by the military during the Civil War, some of the land was eventually divided up into lots and sold off. A majority of residential development in the neighborhood occurred in the 1940s, aimed at military personnel tied to Bolling Air Force Base.
